Annual Safety Seminar Recap

Our annual safety seminar was a great success, with over 80 participants from across the region attending the two-day event. The seminar covered the latest developments in air sports safety, including:

• New equipment technologies and their proper use
• Advanced weather assessment techniques and tools
• Emergency procedures and crisis management
• Risk management strategies for different air sports
• Incident analysis and prevention methods
• Regulatory updates and compliance requirements

Day one featured presentations from leading safety experts, including Dr. Andreas Schmidt from the European Aviation Safety Agency and Captain Elena Vasquez, a former military test pilot with extensive experience in emergency procedures.

The second day focused on hands-on workshops where participants could practice emergency scenarios in controlled environments. These practical sessions were particularly valuable, allowing pilots to test their responses to various emergency situations.

"The quality of instruction and the practical nature of the workshops made this an invaluable learning experience," commented workshop participant Stefan Jovanovic from Serbia.

Key takeaways from the seminar included the importance of regular equipment inspections, the value of continuing education in safety practices, and the need for open communication about incidents and near-misses within the community.

Video recordings of selected presentations will be made available to federation members who were unable to attend. Plans are already underway for next year's seminar, which will focus on advanced rescue techniques.
